The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of genaration of information in the light of the notion related to the representation process. Approach in the field of ‘HYOGENGAKU’ (studies of representation) and rhetoric are analyzed. Five factors involved in the representation process (sender, media, recipient, context, aim) and their interrelations are identified. Based on these analysis, a model of representation process is formed. The model indicates interactive relations among the constituent factors of the process. It is suggested that the interactive relationship depicted by the model is of significance for understanding the generation and transmission of information.
