引用文献の計量的分析―文化人類学Citation analysis in the field of cultural anthropology

Using the method of reference counting, the writer analyses citations in 80 research articles published from July 1957 through March 1967 in Minzokugaku-Kenkyu (The Japanese Journal of Ethnology). The results of analysis are outlined as follows:

  • Length of one article 13.9 pages
  • Frequency of citations per article 45.4
  • Number of titles cited per article 27.9
  • Frequency of duplicate citations per article 17.5
  • Citations to Minzokugaku-Kenkyu 3.3%
  • Author self-citations 6.0%
  • Citations to material in English 40.7%
  • Citations to material in Japanese 31.4%
  • Age of most frequent citations 2 years
  • Average age of citations 22.2 years
  • 50% of citations are covered by latest 10 years
  • 75% of citations are covered by latest 28 years
