Library and Information Science掲載論文の傾向The change in the characteristics of articles published in Library and Information Science 1963–1986

A content analysis was carried to know the characteristics of “Library and Information Science” (LIS) published from the Mita Society for Library and Information Science. LIS published 342 articles from no. 1 (1963) to no. 24 (1986), and these articles are written by 432 authors. From the view of the subject and the research method used, LIS is different from other Japanese library and information journals. A large number of the articles in LIS are categorized into information science research and the quantitative methods are used in many articles. After the year 1980, the number of authors per article has increased extremely.
