The purpose of this paper is to clarify the process of researchers' publication activity and the recognition researchers have received. In order to see this complex process totally, select a few researchers and follow their research activities and recognitions through their life. About 2 winners of the 1981 Nobel Prize for medicine and economics, their career, publication records, type of publications, coauthorship, research themes, number of awards, and number of citations received are examined.
Major findings are as follows: (1) Researchers are highly productive after they hold a stable position and have more 15 years professional careers. Then they continue to be productive for a long time. (2) Propotion of collabolation and type of publications are distinguished by research fields. (3) They are received recoginition in the late of their career. Relation between recognition and research trends of the field are finded.
