This paper conducts functional structure analysis of research articles, using the Categories, the author previously proposed as a framework for analysing informational content of research articles. Fisrt, reexamination on the Criterion of the Categories is conducted through consideration on linguistic feature of the sentences. A Number of lexical-clue-combination-patterns are extracted from the corpus of research articles selected from three specialties. These patterns are classified by combination of sentence-end-representations, verbs, and other lexical clues. After that, these patterns are listed and added to previous Criterion. Junction between sentences are also considered.
