【目的】本稿は，病院の市民公開講座における患者図書室の資料展示を対象に，展示を組織化する司書の実践をエスノメソドロジー的に分析する。それにより，保健医療システムの転換における患者図書室の健康医療情報サービスの方法を明らかにする。

【方法】病院の市民公開講座でフィールドワークを実施し，作成したフィールドノート，ブックリストを含む関連資料，司書に対して行った約90分のインタビュー（展示の目的，展示資料の選択，ブックリストの作成・準備の方法などについて質問した）をもとにエスノメソドロジー的分析を行った。

【結果】展示は，展示資料を選択する，ブックリストを作成・準備する，資料を展示するという一連の実践によって組織化されていた。司書は，展示資料を選択することにより，講座の参加者が，複数の資料を組み合わせて読むことで病気を多角的に理解することができるようにしたり，それぞれの実情や用途に合わせて情報を選択したりすることができるようにしていた。また，ブックリストを作成・準備することにより，情報源へのナビゲーションを行い，参加者が効果的に資料を活用できるようにしていた。これらの実践は，司書がサービスを実現するためのキュレーションやナビゲーションの方法になっていた。

Purpose: This research examines the exhibition by a patient library at a public lecture in a university hospital and explicates the methods by which the patient library carries out health information services under a major shift in medical care system. The examination focuses on the practices of health librarians who organized the exhibition and is conducted from an ethnomethodological perspective.

Methods: During the fieldwork conducted in public lectures at the hospital, field notes were taken and materials including book lists were gathered. Approximately 90-minutes interviews were also conducted with the health librarians, who were asked questions about the exhibition’s objectives and the methods by which they select books for exhibition and prepare book lists.

Results: The exhibition was organized through the following sequence of practices: selecting books for exhibition, preparing a book list, and exhibiting selected materials. In selecting books, the librarians enable the lecture participants to understand the diseases of interest from multiple perspectives by reading different books in combination or choose specific books for obtaining information that they need according to their individual conditions or purposes. By preparing book lists, they give directions to participants on how they can effectively make use of exhibited books. These two practices can be regarded as constituting the librarian’s methods of curation and instruction to provide information services.
